Fighter Legacy: A look back at the last 29 shows plus ticket giveaway!

With our 30th show looming, we at SNA HQ have been looking back at the last 10 years and the numbers behind what we’ve achieved in that time.

Here are some pretty interesting stats;

29 shows.

The first event was held in Ferneham Hall, Fareham, Hampshire and sold out to 600 people.

455 different MMA fighters and over 70 Kickboxing & Muay Thai competitors, with 13 of those athletes competing in more than one style in our cage over the years. Bringing the total of unique fighters across all three disciplines to at least 525 before we even start to think about the new blood readying themselves to put on a show at Shock N Awe 30.

John Gooden was a commentator and presenter for us for a number of events before he got the call up. John is now a regular commentator for the UFC and presents several shows with co-host Dan hardy.

In the last 10 years we’ve taken SNA to 5 different venues, brought at least 18 different nationalities together in the cage and matched over 500 bouts, presided over by top calibre referees, judges and commentators such as John Gooden, Rich Mitchell, David Lethaby and Ben Cartlidge.

Referee Rich Mitchell is regularly officiating UFC fights after presiding over 100’s of domestic match ups.

MMA alone has served our fans with 143 TKO/KO victories and 170 submission wins, with 5 events not seeing the score cards once!

Our busiest fighters have been Owen Gayle & Elliott “Toy Boy” Hoye, with 11 fights apiece, closely followed by Joe Laurence in second with 10. Taking joint third place are James Brum and Matt Hughes with 9. Jade Barker, representing women’s competition, tops the table with 7 appearances.

Owen Gayle has the joint most appearances on Shock N Awe

The Shock N Awe cage has hosted UFC, Rizin and Bellator fighters, TUF competitors, commonwealth Judo and Wrestling medallists and Polaris grappling champions.

Molly McCann has been one of the busiest women in the Shock N Awe cage competing in Amateur and Pro MMA along with Amateur K1.

But the question now is with veterans and debutantes all vying for victory, who will make history in our 30th show?

In one of our legends fights on Shock N Awe 30, Joe Laurence will move up to joing 2nd with most appearances as Elliott Hoye takes the lead with his next fight. Stay tuned for the announcement.

Can you name 3 of the competitors that have gone on to fight in the UFC? If you can drop us an e-mail to with the answer and we will draw a winner at random on July 31st 2019.
